Birth Plan

Why would you need a plan for something as unpredictable as birth? I guess there’s just no better words to call it, but honestly, the plan is not about the plan so much. It is about getting to know your options, educating yourself and feeling confident and empowered to advocate for yourself While making your birth plan/ preferences you have a chance to consider and reconsider how you see your birth, what are your ‘musts’ or ‘taboos’, what virtues you want to bring to your labor. It is a chance to armor yourself with evidence based information so when you are faced with question, there is already an answer somewhere in your head It’s like checking the map or route before going to a road trip, to make sure there are as little obstacles or ‘closed paths’ as possible. Did you have a birth plan? Was it helpful in any way?
