What doulas really do?

I think one of the very important things is that the ‘package’ of what doula does for you can be tailored to the smallest details. Imagine yourself as a goddess and doula being at service for you that you can go through the pregnancy, birth & postpartum with as much content as possible 🧚🏻‍♀️That’s quite a bright picture, but you get the idea

Are they here to teach? Support? Cheerlead? Talk?

Anyway, the general idea is that doula provides physical and emotional support to you and your partner during this period of life when you’re expecting/ having/ received a baby. For instance, doula can offer:

• Attention to physical comfort (touch, massage, breathing)
• Emotional reassurance, comfort and encouragement
• Information about what’s happening during labor and the postpartum period, including explanations of procedures
• Guidance and support for loved ones
